Understanding

sometimes is a hindrance. For

- it prevents you from disciplining the kids at the appropriate time
- it prevents you from showing your anger/hurt to the person who hurt you in the first place
- it puts you under a disadvantageous position as everything gets cloaked under "hey, you understand right? how can you say/do this? "

ohh yeah u r so right.. its down right irritating when u r just 'supposed to understand' and ppl are so matter of fact abt it..

on a side note, Lavs, this too shall pass.. we must all practice the art of saying no..

just what I was thinking of, today..... just because we try to look at someone else's point of view, we are expected to do so always...while no one does the same for us... very frustrating....
but as AJCL says - this too shall pass - and that is what i keep telling myself.

So true Lavanya. and I guess the women in this world have to go thru more of this understanding thing! Not that I am anti men... but it always comes back to women being more subdued and "understanding".. Sometimes you just want to break free ....!!

@L_R : I would take up yr suggestion next time it happens. :) For now, this post was a result of reflecting on past happenings :)

@AJCL : The art of saying No, oh yes, there is even a book with the same title. Got to read that! And A, I think this is one that, even if it passes, shall always return.

@Sowmya : Oh, yeah ! I think every one of us would have faced this at one point or another

@Anu : exactly! Expecting but not practicing ! so true ! and yeah its sooo frustrating

@kn0609 : Women are "expected" to be more understanding rather. I know of men who are understanding as well (fortunately my hubby is one such guy as well), but the tag of expectation is too much
